“We have a gratitude problem and we should probably talk about it.”
Numerous studies tout the benefits of gratitude on our psychological well-being, our relationships, our health and more. Robert Emmons, PhD, a leading researcher in this field, claims that gratitude works — at work — at home — in every aspect of life. Yet, all indications show we are an ungrateful bunch. (Ouch, right?) We aren’t grateful for the modern conveniences we have, we’re spoiled, we’re entitled and businesses are even resorting to ‘manners training’ to remind us to say please and thank you. Really!!
With all this in mind, I’d like to invite you on a gratitude journey! You can start this journey TODAY! I’m so excited because I’ve teamed up with Patrick Kirby, founder and do-gooder at Do Good Youniversity to create an online course “Embracing Your Attitude of Gratitude.” Patrick does incredible work helping nonprofits be more awesome. Whatever you do (nonprofit, for profit, work from home, work at home, work as little as possible), this course WILL be helpful for you!
You can sign up today for this journey to gratitude, Embracing Your Attitude of Gratitude.
What gratitude can do for your organization
This shift in mindset creates a space to invite creativity in the way we show gratitude, and instead of only thinking transactionally (you get something, you give something) you’ll begin to think in terms of transformation (you say thank you to build lasting relationships).
As we look at benefits, this practice helps you become more empathetic, helps ease frustration, helps you sleep better — all benefits that can have a direct impact on your work!
Not sure where to start? Don’t worry – we have you covered.
