Check out what the 6th graders had to say

In November, there were 135 6th graders from DGF middle school participating in the 21 Day ThanksGiving Binge. I created the binge on gratitude four years ago, after hearing a similar idea from a friend. I knew the world could benefit from more gratitude, thus, the binge was born. DGF teacher Dana Moffett loved the idea so much she incorporated it into her lesson plan and then she asked the students to email me their responses to the 21 Day ThanksGiving Binge. Their feedback is incredible! Here are a few of the many (135) e-mails I received:

It brought me thankfulness for what I have and it just really improved my life! So I guess what I’m trying to say here is that without you or the 21 Thanksgiving day binge my life would have not been the same as what it is today!

I want to thank you for making 21DayThanksgivingBinge. It really made me think how lucky I am. It made me have a better attitude about everything.

I wanted to say thanks for the #21dtb I feel happier now.

I LOVED the 21 thanksgiving binge because it helped me remember my past about when my dad died

It’s amazing how many things that we take for granted that we really should be thankful for. I will probably do it again. Thanks for inventing the 21 day Thanksgiving binge.

I want to tell you how much I liked how I could get things off my plate by journaling, I did not like how I missed days

I just want to tell you how much I loved the #21DTB. I’m so thankful that you let us do this. I showed my grandpa this and he loved I think we might have got a little closer then we used to. My grandpa and I never really got along and now we have because of this.

It made me think about everything I’m thankful for; for example, I never knew I was thankful for the refrigerator but I am because it keeps our food cold and edible. So I just wanted to thank you for making the #21DTB.

I’ve never done anything like it and I enjoyed it! I was helping out around the house by cleaning my room which not going to lie was boring but I got to listen to music so it wasn’t that bad. Also, I put the dishes away without telling my mom but when she asked who did it I told her it was me. This was a fun experiment thank you.

I really enjoyed writing about mashed potatoes(mashed potatoes are my favorite food). Hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving and ate enough mashed potatoes. Thank you. 🙂

I loved the Thanksgiving Binge. I enjoyed typing all of the good things that had happened to me and how it helped me be more thankful. I’m glad I took time out of my day to type all of those nice memories and things that I am grateful of. I will hopefully be able to do this next year and maybe the year after, but I just wanna say it was amazing.

I personally loved writing about being thankful for the little things. It was a great way to express how grateful I am. You did an amazing job with the new things to write about every day. It made a huge impact on my life. I recognized how important little things were, and I never would have been able to without you making the #21DayThanksgivingBinge. Thank you!!

I really liked that it helps physically and mentally. I also like that it keeps you positive and not negative. Thank you.

The 21 thanksgiving binge was ok it was not great it was not bad I kinda wish there was a little more than just doing one thing each day. Next year I would like you to add  more things to do each day.

I just want to say that I loved the 21 day Thanksgiving binge. The best part I really was loved how we got to write about what we were thankful for and it was fun to just express my feelings.

I just want to tell you how much I appreciated the #21DTB

I really liked when we said favorite memory  It brought back a lot of memories of my grandpa when he was still alive like when he was in the hospital he gave me a toy car of his he was my age.

Heartwarming, honest and impactful (for the most part!) I was so blessed to read these emails! It’s never too late to ‘binge’ on gratitude. you can connect to my podcast that has each of the 21 day challenges and start it anytime!
