3 things that might be in your way

Do you ever get to the end of the week and get disheartened because you didn’t get everything done you intended to? Have you ever delayed that tough conversation for just the right time … and now it’s months overdue? Is the list of things you are going to do “someday” growing rather than shrinking?

Here are 3 things that might be in your way:


1) Excuses


We’ve all got them. In fact, if you’ve run out, I have a whole bunch I could share. The excuses come in many forms; I don’t have time, enough money, I don’t have it all figured out, now isn’t the right time.What’s at the heart of the excuses you are using? Who are your excuses serving? 


2) Fears

The best acronym I’ve heard for fear is this: False Expectations Appearing Real. We were given the ability to envision the future, and for some crazy reason, our default mode is fear and worry. What are you truly afraid of? What is the worst thing that could happen? What’s the best thing that could happen? Why not envision that?

3) Roadblocks


If you are striving for more than status quo, expect roadblocks. There will be peaks and valleys, so set your expectations accordingly. As obstacles appear, view them as challenges, not as a dead end. Sometimes the next step isn’t what you anticipated, but there is always a next step.

Whatever you are striving for — better relationships, improved health, more fulfillment in life — know that there is hope and possibility. Sometimes you just have to get out of your own way
