After the devastation in the nation due to the hurricane, the scare of the impending hurricane, wildfires, not to mention the unthinkable tragedy in Fargo, many of us try to find a sliver of silver lining, something positive to focus on. We can find that glimmer of hope when we see people helping people. Tragedy has the capacity to unite and to bring out the best of humanity as we are called to give, to help, to serve. Those stories inspire us and restore our hope.
That is what mindset #6, Live to Give, is all about. It’s about giving your time and your resources to serve others, and beyond that, inspiring others, and maximizing your impact on the world. Ultimately, embracing this mindset means you are giving the world the best version of you.
You can start by being more intentional about your impact on your family, with your co-workers, neighbors or strangers on the street. You can start by giving the gift of kindness, a smile, a listening ear, a helping hand.
At a corporate level, many businesses are making a big impact with dollars and hours. Some are doing this publicly, and many are privately giving and serving. If your organization isn’t making an impact yet, consider causes you want to get behind, then create avenues to allow your employees to get involved in serving.
You might be a life-changer for one person, or thousands, but the number doesn’t matter. What does matter is that you make an impact, at whatever level you can.
Mindset #6 is one of The 7 Mindsets that research has proven
can bring you more happiness, success and fulfillment in life.
