Happy New Year!!
As we embark on another year, I’ve got a few questions for you:
1) What’s your One Word for 2019? It’s one word that can set the stage for your choices, your goals and your life in the year ahead. Words I’ve heard from my friends and clients this year are words such as Create, Broaden, Expand, Strength. My one word for the year is Building. This has several different facets for me, and I’m relating it to all aspects of my life. Identifying one defining word is a great activity to do with your family as well! And, maybe you’ll tie that one word to a Bible verse to make it even more meaningful.
2) What will you leave behind in 2018? Bad habits, indecision, fear? What doesn’t serve you well? What must you let go of? Decide now what you don’t need to take with you into the new year.
3) Are you willing to commit to change? If you’re not willing to commit to change, then don’t bother with any of this. Seriously! It will be a waste of your time! If you ARE willing to commit to change, then start now.
Once you know what you want and what you don’t, keep your intentions top of mind. Screensavers, passwords, journaling, calendar reminders and even sticky notes can be helpful for keeping focused. Having an accountability partner is also helpful to keep you on track.
